METROPOLITAN METHODIOS ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHANCELLOR

         His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios announced today the appointment of the Rev. Theodore J. Barbas as Chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston effective June 1, 2008.  Fr. Barbas will succeed the Rev. Athanasios Demos who will be assuming new responsibilities in New York.           

         Father Barbas graduated from Hellenic College in 1989 and from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 1992.  He served as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the Diocese of Boston for seven years, as well as Camp Director for the Boston Diocese Camp for the same period.   Father Ted married Daphne  (Zervoglos) in 1994.   They have four children,  Maria, Katerina, Yianni and Thea.  He was ordained in March of 1995 and served as Deacon to Metropolitan Methodios until he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in September of 1996 at the Taxiarchae Parish in Watertown.
