Metropolitan Methodios of Boston has received a letter from Archbishop Demetrios of America thanking him for the donations of the Parishes of the Metropolis to the Greek Fire Relief fund.  Metropolitan Methodios sent to the Archdiocese a check for $52,819.20 representing donations made to the Metropolis for the Fire Relief fund.  Additionally, $23,068.00 was sent to the Archdiocese directly by a number of parishes and $5,500.00 was sent to IOCC.   The total contributions were $81,387.20.  Below is the Archbishop’s letter to Metropolitan Methodios:


Your Eminence,


With these words of St. Paul. I would like to convey to Your Eminence and to the parishes and individuals of the Metropolis of Boston the heartfelt appreciation of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America for the very generous recent donation of $52,819.20 made to the Greek Fire Relief Fund.  Your magnanimous generosity makes it possible for the Church to respond to the urgent need of so many people who were adversely impacted by this catastrophe.


            Thousands of people who lost their homes and possessions will need assistance for many years to come to recover from this disaster.  No doubt, your thoughtful benefaction which we know is a work of faith and a labor of love will greatly help alleviate their suffering and set them on the road to recovery.


            Please be assured that we remember you and all your loved ones in our prayers and trust that you will always enjoy the bountiful blessings of Almighty God.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
