Metropolis of Boston Camp Staff Training Curriculum
Requirements and Recommendations

Please read carefully

The following is a prelude to a fixed curriculum for staff training for the future of our camp. Being at camp includes any time at camp: a week,
a weekend, overnight or all summer. We want staff who loves being at camp and WANTS to be at camp.

We hope to see all the staff present at as many opportunities as possible for their personal growth and for growth as a family and team. As with our Church Canons, these guidelines are to be used as a guide to lead us to gather to work for the camp and the Gospel.

The following has the required and recommended way to be eligible to be at camp during the summer.

  • 1-2 Year Staff: Attendance at BOTH Staff Training Weekends for the entire weekend, at least one JOY Winter Camp, a monthly meetings in your locale, and GOYA Winter Camp as camper (high school seniors).
  • 3-4 Year Staff: Both Staff Training Weekends, GOYA winter camp, and one of the monthly meetings. It would be a great blessing to have you at any other gatherings/trainings.
  • 4+ years staff and parents/relatives: Both Staff Training Saturdays from 9AM to 5PM . It would be a great blessing to have you the entire weekend, any winter camps, and/or monthly meetings.

Conclusion: Attendance requirements are for your benefit as much as the camps. Living a life in constant growth as well as dedication to the camp program and to your own spiritual journey will be taken into serious consideration by the Director and advisory board. Also, we will rely
heavily on the input and recommendation of our parish priest or spiritual father.
