"DO I HAVE YOUR BLESSINGS, YOUR EMINENCE?"

A day before he and his parents traveled to Disney World in Orlando, FL, eight-year-old Andreas visited the Metropolis Center, walked in the office of Metropolitan Methodios, kissed his hand and asked, “Do I have your blessings, Your Eminence?”

Of course you do,” replied Metropolitan Methodios who told the youngster that he, too, had visited Disney World and he liked it very much.

You will see Mickey Mouse, and Minie Mouse, and many many other things you will enjoy.  And when you get back, I want to hear all about the visit,” the Metropolitan told Andreas.

Andreas is from Cyprus.  He came to Boston with his parents last fall and is staying in the Philoxenia House.  He is undergoing treatment at Children’s hospital.  He is a brave little fellow who delights all with his smile.  He was chosen by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to visit Disney World for seven days.  A stretch limousine picked the family up at the Philoxenia House of the Metropolis of Boston on July 30, 6:00 a.m.  Andreas, who went to sleep at 1:00 a.m. and woke up at 4:00 a.m., could not contain his excitement.  He waited on the front lawn of the Philoxenia House, sitting on a bench and watching each car go by.  “When is the limo coming, dad?” he asked every minute.  And when the limousine arrived, courtesy of Make-A-Wish Foundation, Andreas’ smile said it all!

Make-A-Wish Foundation is the nation’s largest wish-granting organization. Since 1980, it has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. “From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes," says president David Williams.
