Metropolitan Methodios Celebrates Divine Liturgy at Newburyport Parish

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios presided at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Annunciation Church in Newburyport on Sunday, May 16, when the community celebrated the 25th Anniversary since the opening of the new church edifice following a catastrophic fire which destroyed the church structure.  It was a joyous celebration for all.  His Eminence was assisted by Fr. Theodore J. Barbas, Chancellor of the Metropolis, Fr. Constantine Newman, Pastor of the Community, and two former Pastors---Fr. Kyriakos Saravelas, now retired, and Fr. Christopher Foustoukos, currently the Pastor of the Saint Vasilios Church in Peabody.  Metropolitan Methodios tonsured Maximos George, Luke George and Nicholas Perreault and Chanters Antonios Argyrople and Oliver Goodrich.  Donations of $3,000.00 to furnish a room at the Retreat House at the Saint Methodios Faith & Heritage Center was presented to Metropolitan Methodios.  The money was contributed by the Church School, the GOYA and the Ladies Aid Society.  A reception followed the Divine Liturgy in the church hall.
