GREEK EDUCATORS MEET WITH METROPOLITAN METHODIOS TO PLAN PROGRAM FOR NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
Metropolitan Methodios met with the members of the New England Association of Greek Teachers on October 4 to plan various activities for the current ecclesiastical academic year, including the celebration of Greek Letters (February 1, 20090 and the Graduation festivities (May 30, 2009) both at the Maliotis Cultural Center. His Eminence also informed those present that he will host a luncheon for all teachers on January 3, 2009 as well as a Pascal luncheon on May 2, 2009.
On behalf of the clergy and the laity of the Metropolis, Metropolitan Methodios thanked the teachers for their dedicated service and for their role in preserving and perpetuating the Greek language. The clergy and the parents of children in the parochial and afternoon Greek schools of the community know and appreciate the tireless efforts of the Greek school teachers.
The V. Rev. Fr. Cleopas Strongylis will continue to oversee the Greek Education Program of the Metropolis. Theodora Chronopoulos is the president of the Greek School Teachers Association.
