His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios announced today that Stephen S. Kalivas, a member of the Metropolis of Boston Council and a steward of the St. Vasilios Parish in Peabody, MA will be the Master of Ceremonies for the 2008 Ministry Awards Dinner which will be held on Sunday, June 1 at Lombardo’s in Randolph.   In 2007 the St. Vasilios Parish chose Stephen Kalivas to receive the Ministry Award from Metropolitan Methodios.   A faithful steward of his parish, Stephen has served on the Parish Council and on many committees.  He chaired the 100th Anniversary of St. Vasilios in 2006, a year-long calendar of demanding events, including two performances of the Rachmaninoff Festival Choir in the community church hall, all under his supervision.  He also chaired the Rachmaninoff Concerts in honor of Metropolian Methodios, held in the Annunciation Cathedral of Boston in 2007.  Stephen, a pharmacist, is a member of the Fellowship of Orthodox Stewards (FOS) of the Metropolis of Boston, a program which financially supports the ministries of the Metropolis.
