CONSTRUCTION FOR RETREAT HOUSE AT FAITH & HERITAGE CENTER WILL BEGIN THIS SUMMER

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios announced today that the New Hampshire Supreme Court unanimously upheld previous decisions by the state’s Superior Court and the Town of Hopkinton Zoning Board to grant special exemption for the construction of a Retreat House on the grounds of the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH.  This picturesque town is the location of the magnificent wooded property used by the Metropolis of Boston Camp.   According to the Statement of Use, the Retreat House will host religious and non-profit activities.  The facility will also be available to the various departments of the town of Hopkinton, NH.   Metropolitan Methodios also announced that plans are underway to begin construction of the Retreat House during the summer.

The Retreat House at the Faith & Heritage Center will be an ideal gathering place for groups and organizations to meet and learn about the Greek Orthodox Faith and Cultural Heritage.  Overlooking a beautiful lake, the Retreat House will offer a place where Priests, Parish Council members, Philoptochos Women, Senior Citizens, Catechetical and Greek School teachers and other community groups can gather to enjoy fellowship and become more attuned to our Faith and heritage.

The Retreat House will consist of 40 double bedrooms, two handicapped accessible bedrooms and one VIP suite.  The main floor will consist of an 1825 sq. foot multifunction room with a fireplace and balcony, a kitchen and a reception office.  Two additional conference rooms will be located on the ground floor and two gathering rooms on the second floor.  The ground floor will also have a parlor and fireplace.
