FUNDS RAISED BY ANNUAL CRUISE WILL BENEFIT ST. METHODIOS FAITH & HERITAGE CENTER CAMP PROGRAMS

 

Portia Pantages of Waban, MA, a steward at the Annunciation Cathedral of Boston and the St. Demetrios Church in Weston, MA,  presented Metropolitan Methodios with a check for $3,084 on March 17 for the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center Camp Programs of the Metropolis of Boston.  The funds were realized from this year's successful Annual Cruise, the 14th, which Miss Pantages organizes.   The donation will ensure that no child will be deprived from attending the Camp Program due to lack of funds.  Said Miss Pantages, "We strongly believe that this is an experience that every child should have."    

A total of $7,645 raised has been raised for the camp program of the Metropolis of Boston during the past three years through these cruises.  In the 14 years they have been held, more than $56,000 has been raised for various charities, including the Philoxenia House, according to Miss Pantages. 

The 42 participants who sailed with Miss Pantages this year were: Maria and Angelo Davos, Anthony and Fay Andreadis, Connie and Betty Calliontzis, Dr. Joanna Doku, John and Vicki Orphanos, Evangelos Markos, Fran and Alexandra McInnis, Mary Perdikes, Kay Geanakakis, Bill and Peggy Kantaros, Paul and Toni Stamatos, Dr. George White, Dr. Anthi Tsamtsouris White, George and Margarita Marangos, James and Annette Kaselis, Despina Demonico, Elinore Galinos , Joanne Statires, Sophia Menaxopoulos, Maria Troubalos, Christos and Christine Georgountzos, John and Effie Gefteas, Arthur and Frances Dimitres, Joanne Piandes, Harriet Kozich, Elpiniki Yannatos, Angie Vournazos and Nicholas and Elaine Stamas. 

The 2009 Cruise will be held February 2-13 on the luxurious Constellation of the 5 star Celebrity Line. “We invite all to join us by sailing and making a difference,” says Portia Pantages.
