Holy Friday

On Holy Friday His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios joined the St. John the Baptist Community in Cambridge, MA.

During this beautiful afternoon service the body of Christ is taken down from the Cross and laid in the tomb. His Eminence and the community reverntly worshiped in great anticipation of the coming Resurrection.

On May 3rd 2013 His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios joined the St. Athanasius Community in Arlington, MA in celebrating the service of the Lamentations. His Emiencne and the St. Athansius Community were also joined by Fr. Theodore Barbas, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston and Rev. Hiermonk Iakovos of the Simonopetras Monastery of Mount Athos.

Hundres of faithful parishoners joined His Emience in singing the hymns of our Lords burrial.

In a world of chaos and struggle there is no greater witness of the Love, Light and Strength of God then perhaps what happened in Arlington on Holy Friday. His Eminence, the clergy, and the faithful carried the Epitaphio stright down Massachusets Avenue.  A witness to the true triumph of Good over evil.

At a time in society when every minute of every day is packed with a to do list that is unrealistic and we are constantly bombarded from all directions with music, media and the newst technology to "simplify" our lives, Holy Friday was truly a moment to step back, disconnect and rejuvinate in the selfless and saving act of our Lord.
