Holy Thursday

On Thursday May 2, Metropolitan Methodios celebrated the morning's vesperal Liturgy at the St. Andrew's Chapel in Brookline Ma.

Celebrating this special Liturgy with parishoners from our New England Parishes including many from the Annunciation Cathedral.

Holy Thursday Evening His Eminence Celebrated the service of the 12 Gospels with the St. Nectarios Community in Roslindale, MA.

   

His Eminence and the St. Nectarios Community were also joined by Fr. Ted Barbas, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston, and Rev. Hiermonk Iakovos of the Simonopetras Monastery of Mount Athos.

 

Highlights of the evening included the process of the cross of our Lord and the chanting of the hymn "Today He who hung the earth upon the waters, is hung on the tree. The King of the Angels is decked with a crown of thorns. He who wrapped the heavens in clouds, is wrapped in the purple of mockery. He who freed Adam in the Jordan is slapped in the face The Bridegroom of the Church is affixed to the cross with nails. The son of the virgin is pierced by a spear. We worship thy passion O Christ. Show us also a glorious Resurrection.
