Holy Monday
On Monday April 29th 2013, His Eminence Metropoliltan Methodios joined the St. Vasilios Community in Peabody, MA in celebrating the second Bridegroom Service of Holy Week. Accompanying His Eminence were Fr. Theodore Barbas, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston and Rev. Hiermonk Iakovos of the Simonopetras Monastery of Mount Athos.
During the Service, His Eminence also bestowed a special blessing on a faithful female servant of the community allowing her to tend to the Altar.
The evening was a beautiful celebration of prayer and preparation for our Lords Crucifixion and Resurrection. Following the service His Eminence shared his wishes for a spiritually rewarding Holy Week and Pascha for our community. His prayer is that all people receive the light as we approach the empty tomb this coming Pascha and carry that light as "tapers of hope" in a world that needs the love of Almighty God more than ever before.
