Letter from Metropolitan Methodios to the Members of the Parish Councils and Boards of Elections

To the Reverend Clergy, Members of the Parish Councils and Members of the Boards of Elections of the Metropolis of Boston

Brethren,
As we draw near to the Parish elections in our Communities, I invite all who will be candidates for election, together with all Parish Council members, to attend one of nine District Parish Council Seminars that will be held over the next several weeks. As you know, participation in this seminar is required by the Uniform Parish Regulations (UPR) for those whose name will appear on the election ballot. Ongoing Parish Council members are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend as well. The interaction and sharing of ideas between Parish Council members of several neighboring Communities will, I am sure, prove to be of great benefit. I have asked nine of our clergy together with nine laymen to lead these seminars. This year"s Parish Council Candidate Training Seminar, entitled HTowards Working as the Body of Christ in Greek Orthodox Parish Ministry," has been designed by Fr. Jim Katinas as part of his Doctor of Ministry project at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our Metropolis and to your local Parish. I pray that the Lord will bless and inspire your service on the Parish Council.
With Episcopal Love,

METHODIOS
Metropolitan of Boston
